Top Advice On Dirt Bikes

You don't have to buy everything brand new. In fact, you can save a lot of cash by taking to the auction circuit or second-hand ownership circuit if you are wise. Simply by purchasing some local circulars you can find where the auctions are and who is selling their unwanted all terrain vehicles or bikes on the cheap.

Many people are so anxious to recover some money from their bike investments that they will sell theirs cheap. So before you go off to a dealership to buy new, you may find that a local owner is eager to unload their bike which is no longer in use.

1. Do Your Homework. Make sure you know the type of bike you are looking for and the approximate value. Be sure to have a good understanding of how that value is found. Factors to consider are overall condition, functionality of all features, age, mileage, and region you're buying the bike from. This information helps arm you with negotiation power.

If you're at an auction and bidding then be careful. These types of situations can become competitive and emotionally-charged. The last thing you want to do is enter into a deal with emotion. Understand that it is about the transaction and your happiness and comfort level. If you set a budget for the bike then stick to it because if you did your research right then you know how much it is truly worth it. So, keep emotions out of the bidding.

Get out there and ride the bike. Whenever possible, try to sit on the bike and get a feel for it before you buy it. Now, if you're buying one online that is fine. Simply know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what you are looking for. Go to a local dealer and simply sit on the exact model you like. That way you know what one should look and feel like. Then you can buy one online to match the model that you've seen.

Consider your arrival at an auction house. If you're bidding on your bike or all terrain vehicle at an auction you have to go see it early. Take a look at the bike in an up, close, and personal fashion. Then gauge what other bidders are saying and how emotionally attached they seem to be to the bike. This will help you negotiate better or know which bike will be bid too high. The object is to keep a keen eye on the bike and the bidders.
