How To Clean An Electric Scooter

By Samuel Cohen

If you need a bike that runs on an engine and is environmental friendly then you need an electric scooter. They are environmental friendly due to the emissions they make to the environment when they are being used. They also use little fuel so it will save on money spent for the same. They are also perfect to maneuver through traffic jams.

It is important that one keeps their scooter clean at all times. The first thing to do is to dust it off. Use a dusting cloth for this as you check all parts of the bike to make sure that nothing is broken. If there is any other type of dirt that needs to be reduced before any other procedures are done then it will be carried out during the dusting.

Cover the carburetor completely with a water proof material. No moisture is supposed to go in at all. Water on the carburetor will make it not work properly so you have to be very careful with this. It must be covered so that all the other procedures to clean shall be done well and nothing shall be damaged.

Mix soap into a bucket of water. Ensure that you use a mild soap. If it is harsh it will definitely ruin the paintwork on the body of the scooter. Coarse soap is what you need to avoid when doing the cleaning. Any mixed detergent mixed into the water will be suitable to use.

Scrub the surface using a good brush and the soapy mixture. Use generous amounts and scrub a small part after the other. Do not leave it to dry, use a good amount of water to rinse it off. If you take your time and it dries it will leave patches of soap which will be ugly and look bad on the surface of the scooter.

Cleaning the engine may be a bit complicated. It has its own solutions for cleaning. Furthermore it must be handled with care so that it does not get spoilt. When it has dirt it may not work as well as it should. Water is not to be used for cleaning the engine. If you are unsure about how to clean you could delegate the duty to experts in that job.

To clean the carburetor you need to use the guide that it came with. It will basically involve opening it up then dipping it in a solution for that purpose. Ensure that you dry it thoroughly thereafter because it will have to be moisture free to be returned and used in the electric scooter as it is supposed to.
