Every Tour de France cyclist had to start somewhere. Whether using stabilisers or push- bikes, at one point they were just a kid riding a bike. Today, they are savvy cycling professionals who have left their first days of riding behind them. It leaves one to wonder how long after they started riding it is that they realised it was going to be their profession.

As a means to build their career, the highly regarded rave event was used in 1903. Consisting of nine members, and groups divided by country, there are usually 20 to 22 different teams. In 1904, the race that is approximately 2,000 miles long was shortest during its second year.

A soldier selling military secrets to the Germans started a political debate from which the race originated. The French sports newspaper soon split into two different papers as the people involved in the first newspaper soon became involved in the debate. A cycling enthusiast is the person who led the rival paper. A six- day race was created as a ploy to sell more papers. The other paper was unfortunate enough to be put out of business

The Tour de France currently takes about three weeks to complete. Sleeping and rest days being taken into account are why this is. Necessary for athletes this is in order to keep athletes in top form. Described as the most physiologically daunting event in sports for athletes the Tour de France has been described as.

Competitors enjoy anything having to do with cycling, even training wheels it is fair to assume. Having a very large bike wheel replacement is what one can assume they run. A child with training wheels could be the world's next big athlete. The beginning to anyone's career is 12- inch wheels, if some day the Tour de France is where they end up even.
